August 7th, 2011 marks deviantART's 11th birthdAy, but in true devious style, we're taking a whole week to celebrate! Our original plans for Deviants Appreciation Day were so huge that there was no possible way to express our love for the community in a mere 24 hours. Instead, we've created Deviants Appreciation Week, and what better time to host a week's worth of community-oriented events than in the days leading up to our birthdAy?
Each day this week, we have something special organized for you to participate in! Check out the schedule of events below to come party with us!

Some Background
Being a member of deviantART and having developed many amazing connections with other members, I feel that deviantART is a very personable and friendly place. However, depending on where you go on deviantART, what symbol you have, or the kind/quality of artwork you submit, you could have a very different perspective of the deviantART community. With such inequity, I got thinking about the communication dynamics that exist deviantART. Having taken too many communication classes in college, I can tell you that the fundamental principle of communication is that communication does not happen in isolation. Interpersonal communication is contextual, and it's something that we need to always be mindful of when crafting social experiences. That said, I'm starting a social experiment to improve interpersonal communication on deviantART. Please allow me to explain...

I had some great vacations! 5 days kitesurfing, enjoying nature, eating some good food, sleeping early and whats better, no news and no TV... The world is so much more calm without the media. I feel a lot better now! Ok, time to work //

BRASIL: III devMEET - São Paulo.

Ok, I was about to write an journal to thank everyone for my 20K pageviews... but I have almost 30K pageviews now. I was wondering, HOW?! What happend on September 7th besides Brazil's Independence day? That day I got 9,5K pageviews... WOAH!

I guess I will have to thank you all for the 30K pageviews instead the 20K.
